History of Mother’s Day:

Mother’s Day was first celebrated in the US, in 1908 when a lady named Anna Jarvis wished to remember Mother’s Day as a recognised holiday to honour her mother, Ann Reese Jarvis who was a peace activist and had spent away three years earlier. Anna had a memorial for her mom in St. Andrews Methodist Church in West Virginia – which is currently the International Mother’s Day Shrine. Anna Jarvis wanted to honour her mom as she accepted that a mother is “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”.

Why is it celebrated?

Mothers have the right to be celebrated each day. In India as well as even all throughout the planet, they don’t frequently get their due. Their tireless contributions towards the family, the numerous sacrifices made by them are worthy of a mention and acknowledgement.
