Finally, March Madness has arrived. The brackets for the 2025 NCAA men’s and women’s tournaments have been finalized, and the men’s field has been reduced to 64 teams following the conclusion of the First Four on Wednesday night.
Xavier defeated Texas to secure the No. 11 seed in the Midwest, while Mount St. Mary’s defeated American earlier in the evening.
The men’s First Four opened on Tuesday with Alabama State defeating St. Francis 70-68 on a layup with a second left after a tipped full-court pass. Alabama State will now play Auburn, the top seed, on Thursday.
In the second First Four match on Tuesday, No. 11 North Carolina defeated San Diego State 95-68. On Thursday, the Tar Heels will play No. 6 Ole Miss in the first round of the South.
You still have until Friday am to complete the women’s bracket and until Thursday morning to complete the men’s bracket. Do not be concerned. You’re covered by us. The winners of each first-round clash have already been selected by our experts.
To the chagrin of a few overlooked teams, North Carolina and Texas sneaked into the field, while Auburn defeated Duke to secure the No. 1 overall seed on the men’s side. With 14 of its 16 teams qualifying for the tournament, the SEC set a March Madness record.
The top overall seed in the women’s tournament went to UCLA. USC, Texas, and South Carolina were the other three No. 1s. The women’s First Four games commence on Wednesday, while the men’s First Four games start on Tuesday.
