Meghan Markle’s return to Netflix has been delayed due to the ongoing wildfires in Southern California.
The Duchess of Sussex announced that her new series, “With Love, Meghan,” which was set to premiere on the streaming giant on January 15, has been postponed to March 4.
Markle, who is originally from Los Angeles and attended Immaculate Heart Catholic Girls’ High School, requested that the series’ debut be postponed due to ongoing fires, including the Palisades and Eaton fires.
“At the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix, the release of the show — a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California — has been moved from its previously announced January premiere date to March 4, due to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires,” a Netflix representative confirmed to Fox News Digital.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said.
On Friday, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, met with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo to support victims and relief efforts.
“In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued,” the pair wrote on their website Thursday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex indexed groups on their site which might be actively supporting wildfire victims, such as the Animal Wellness Foundation, that’s housing and worrying for evacuated animals; Compton Cowboys, that’s imparting emergency transportation offerings for horses, and Airbnb and 211LA, that have joined forces to provide unfastened brief housing to human beings who’ve been displaced, amongst others.
Markle introduced her modern-day project on social media this month whilst she again to Instagram for the primary time in 5 years.
“I have been so excited to share this with you,” Markle captioned the post. “I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun!”
Prince Harry made a brief cameo among clips of the duchess cooking, gardening and dancing in her kitchen along movie star pals, such as Mindy Kaling and Roy Choi.
Produced with the aid of using Markle, the collection “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old,” in line with Netflix.
“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
The couple`s multiyear cope with Netflix got here to fruition once they stepped away from their royal responsibilities and moved to California in 2020. They first launched their bombshell docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” in 2022. The display earned the most important one-day target target market for any Netflix collection seeing that tracking started out in October 2022.
One year later, they followed up with the “Heart of Invictus” docuseries in 2023 and produced “Polo” in 2024.
