Lana Del Rey reveals her upcoming country album, “Lasso”

It has been revealed by Lana Del Rey that she is working on a new album, which will have some country influences. At Billboard’s pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, the singer revealed the album, Lasso.

Del Rey honoured producer Jack Antonoff, who worked with her on the new album, on stage at the occasion. She informed the audience, “If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country.” “We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”

Lasso, the singer’s third studio album in the previous four years, is scheduled for release in September. She received five Grammy nominations for her album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which was released in March of last year. The nominations included Best Alternative Music Album and Album of the Year. Her song “A&W” is a nominee for Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance; she is also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Jon Batiste for their song “Candy Necklace.”

Del Rey also spoke on her first encounter with Antonoff, describing him as someone who was “born under one of those talent, lucky musical stars,” during the Grammy Awards. Praised as “one in a million,” she said the producer’s “instincts are unique.” and reportedly worthy of awards.

Over the past year, Del Rey has been taking her country music to new heights on stage. She made an appearance at Robert’s Western World in Nashville in September to perform her recurring version of Tammy Wynette’s 1969 ballad “Stand By Your Man.” She sang John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” in December after giving a sombre performance of Elvis Presley’s 1977 hit song “Unchained Melody,” which was first recorded by the Righteous Brothers, for NBC’s Christmas at Graceland in November.

Del Rey teased to her country music intentions earlier this month when she shared a clip of her next song, “Henry, Come On,” on Instagram. She tagged Luke Laird, a producer of country music best known for working with Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, and others, in the post.

This year, Del Rey will take the lead at Coachella for the first time. On Friday, April 12, and Friday, April 19, the singer will perform. She will be returning to the desert for the first time in ten years for these performances. In 2014, she performed for a sea of flower crown-clad supporters, bringing the Tumblr dashboard to life.
