The 2025 IWF World Championships are being held in Førde, Norway, from October 2–11. This is the first time a major weightlifting event has been held in a tiny city.
Starting in June 2025, lifters will compete for medals in the 16 new weight classes that have been approved by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
Karlos Nasar and Olivia Reeves, the current Olympic and world champions, are two of the top athletes confirmed to compete in Norway.
Solfrid Koanda and Rizki Juniansyah, two other gold medallists from Paris 2024, will also be on the podium.
