In 2023, the NFL will have a salary cap of $224.8 million per team

In 2023, the NFL’s salary cap will continue to rise.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the league informed teams on Monday that the 2023 salary cap would be a record $224.8 million per club. This was reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

From the $208.2 million cap in 2022, it is a $16.6 million increase for each club.

It is anticipated that the salary cap will continue to rise in subsequent years as a result of increased new media deals, the addition of the 17th game, and other increased profits.

The news on Monday accelerates that process, which had been based on a projected salary cap of approximately $225 million for the majority of clubs.

Pelissero added that the league is anticipated to provide additional information on projected costs, including player benefits, in the beginning of March.

Before the start of free agency, teams have until 4 p.m. ET on March 15 to stay under the salary cap.
