IIHF World Championship 2025: Dates, Scores, and How to Watch Live Hockey Tournament

IIHF World Championship 2025: Dates, Scores, and How to Watch Live Hockey Tournament

In 2025, 16 countries will compete for gold at the IIHF World Championship.

To decide which teams move on to the quarterfinals, the teams are split into two groups of eight, Group A and Group B. They will play in a round-robin format. The competition then proceeds to the gold medal game using a single-elimination format.

Is this the year that the United States finally breaks its run? Although the Americans have advanced to the bronze medal game in three of the previous four tournaments, they haven’t taken home a gold medal at the IIHF World Championship since 1933.

Six different teams have won six medals in the last two championships. Last year, Switzerland and Sweden took home silver and bronze, respectively, while Czechia took home the gold.

Here is all the information you require to watch the 2025 IIHF World Championship, including details on TV and streaming options.
