HBO Max’s October 15 launch into 14 more Asia Pacific regions is part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s acceleration of its global streaming effort.
In keeping with the platform’s ambitious worldwide development strategy, the rollout will bring the premium streamer to Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Additionally, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar, Nepal, Palau, the Soloman Islands, and Timor Leste will have access to HBO Max.
The launch date is intentionally in line with the October 27 premiere of HBO’s upcoming original series “IT: Welcome to Derry.” Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård lead the ensemble cast of the Stephen King-inspired drama. The series, which was created by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, broadens the horror universe that Muschietti created in his “IT” film duology.
According to JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and gaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, “HBO Max’s global expansion continues to bring unparalleled entertainment to more fans worldwide, following successful launches in Australia and Europe earlier this year.” “HBOX Max will be accessible in over 100 markets by the end of the year, with more to follow in 2026, including significant launches in Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.”
The service will feature Warner Bros. Discovery’s portfolio, which includes content from Cartoon Network, TLC, Food Network, ID, HGTV, and HBO’s prestige programming as well as popular franchises like “Harry Potter” and DC Universe assets.
New members will get access to HBO’s flagship programs, “House of the Dragon,” “The Last of Us,” “The Penguin,” and “The Pitt,” as well as recent theatrical films, such as “Superman,” “Sinners,” and “Final Destination: Bloodlines.”
Along with reality shows like Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, and 90 Day Fiancé, the platform will also include upcoming originals like “The Paper” and “MobLand,” as well as animated favorites like “Adventure Time,” “We Bare Bears,” “Tom and Jerry,” “Looney Tunes,” and “The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball.”
