Argentina vs Venezuela 2026 World Cup Qualifier live

Argentina’s final home match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will be against Venezuela at River Plate’s Estadio Mâs Monumental.

La Albiceleste has already secured their place in the World Cup for next summer and is preparing to defend their title. But in any case, the match against Venezuela will be a historic event.

Lionel Messi said that he would probably play La Albiceleste’s final home game against La Vinotinto. As thousands and thousands of Argentina supporters fill the stadium to honor their hero, the legendary Monumental will be rocking.

However, this game is really important for Venezuela. The final position for an intercontinental playoff berth currently holds by La Vinotinto. The next two games will decide if Fernando Batista’s team gets to play in their first-ever World Cup appearance. They currently lead Bolivia by one point.

Following the game against Venezuela, La Albiceleste will travel to the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha on September 9 to play Ecuador, who have already qualified. It’s unclear if Messi will play in that encounter or if he wants the match against Venezuela to be his last World Cup qualifying match.

Argentina’s qualifying journey and the September international action will come to an end with the match against Ecuador.

Scaloni’s team will, however, reconvene during the October international break to play friendly games against Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
