Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, revealed on Thursday that the company’s next CEO will be a woman.
“Excited to announce that I’ve a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!” In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Musk exclaimed.
Musk didn’t determine the name of the following President. She is scheduled to begin working in June.
The entrepreneur, who was born in South Africa, said that he will still be an executive at the company. Musk will be in charge of major functions like software and products.
Musk continued, “My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”
Musk’s declaration referred to X Corp., a secretly held organization that Twitter converged into.
The move comes at a time when major changes have been made to Twitter over the past year. According to a recent report, Musk reduced Twitter’s workforce to approximately 1,000 people.
Musk stated, “The issue is, like, the company’s going to go bankrupt if we do not cut costs immediately.” “This is not a caring, uncaring situation. It’s like if the whole ship sinks, then nobody’s got a job.”
Musk finished the securing of Twitter in October, paying $44 billion for the online entertainment stage. He has fired thousands of workers ever since, including the communications department. Musk made a lot of changes to the platform, including getting rid of “legacy bluechecks,” which are also called verification badges. He added new highlights as a feature of Twitter’s membership stage, Twitter Blue, including the capacity to post longer tweets, longer recordings and altering abilities.
Encrypted direct messages and voice and video calls, among other new features, were recently announced by Musk.
