Division I Women’s Soccer: Committee Unveils 2025 In-Season Top-16 Rankings

The NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Committee revealed its top 16 ranking at the intermission of Sunday afternoon’s Duke vs. North Carolina match, with selection Monday approaching. The 64-team NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship bracket’s top 16 teams are those that receive a seed grouping ranging from 1 to 4.

Notre Dame is now the best team in the country in terms of winning percentage (.958), second in terms of points per game (10.50), and third in terms of total goals (43) based on the results of games played on October 11.

TCU, Florida State, Georgetown, and Duke make up the remaining eight spots.

The remaining states in the ranking are South Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Colorado, Michigan State, Iowa, Arkansas, and Memphis.

Head-to-head competition, strength of schedule, Rating Percentage Index, results against common opponents, strength and results against non-conference opponents, late-season performance in the last eight games, and strength and results against conference opponents are all factors that go into the ranking, which is based on the criteria used to choose and seed the 64 teams for the Division I Women’s Soccer Championship.

On Monday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m. ET, NCAA.com will release the 30 automatic qualifiers and 34 at-large choices that will make up the 2025 championship field.

The committee will select the top 32 teams and place them in four groups of one to eight. A seed grouping ranging from 1 to 4 will be awarded to the top 16 teams after they have been ranked.

The competition begins on Friday, November 14. Teams compete for a berth to the Women’s College Cup in the championship, which will be held on campus through the quarterfinals.

The 2025 Women’s College Cup will visit Kansas City’s CPKC Stadium. On Friday, December 5, the semifinals will air on ESPNU at 6 p.m. ET and 8:45 p.m. ET. On Monday, December 8, the championship will air on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET.
