Disney Introduces ‘Bluey’ Characters to Parks and Cruises: Here’s What to Expect

The Walt Disney Company announced on Thursday that a four-legged companion will be added to the character lineup at Disney parks and Disney cruise ships.

Bluey, a blue heeler from the children’s show of the same name, will join Disney Experiences at Disneyland, Disney World and on Disney Cruise Line ships, the company said in a press release.

The company said Bluey will join her sister Bingo on cruises departing from Australia and New Zealand starting in January 2025. The experience will include meet-and-greets and interactive games.

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, stated in the release, “Bluey has become a household name for families around the world and we are thrilled to bring her story to life in new ways.”

When and how the characters will make their park appearances have not been disclosed by Disney.

The “Bluey” movie’s announcement

The news of the trip follows Disney’s statement that it will collaborate with the BBC to produce a movie on the blue dog.

“Bluey” creator Joe Brumm will write and direct the movie, which was supposed to be released in 2027 and “continue the adventures” of Bluey and Bingo.

According to Nielsen data, “Bluey,” which debuted in Australia before being acquired by Disney+, was the most-watched children’s program on all platforms in 2023 and 2024.

Five Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards for “Best Children’s Program” and an International Emmy Kids Award in the “Kids: Preschool” category were given to the program in 2019.
