Only two teams are left in the 2025 College World Series.
The competition has narrowed down to No. 6 LSU and No. 13 Coastal Carolina, the latter entering the national championship with an impressive 26-game winning streak. This marks the second occasion that Tigers coach Jay Johnson has encountered the Chanticleers in the national championship, having previously lost to Coastal Carolina in 2016 while coaching at Arizona.
LSU managed to edge past Arkansas in the semifinals, rallying from a 5-3 deficit in the bottom of the ninth to secure a 6-5 victory with a walk-off single from Jared Jones. On the other hand, Coastal Carolina cruised to an 11-3 triumph over Louisville to advance to the CWS finals.
