Club World Cup 2025: Full List of Teams Competing This Year in FIFA Tournament

2025 FIFA Club World Cup participating teams

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup marks a significant shift for the tournament, which for many years was a seven-team competition.

Europe gets 12 spots, the most of any of the six confederations that oversee the sport on a continental level, in the 32-team competition that FIFA has designed for 2025. Unlike other regions, Oceania will only have one representative, which is the same number as in the old format.

Six people from South America, including four from Brazil (the most from a single country), are next on the list. Due to the fact that the tournament is being held in the United States this year, Concacaf, which oversees North and Central America and the Caribbean, will be the next to enter with five teams, while Asia and Africa will each receive four. Three teams—the LAFC, Inter Miami, and Seattle Sounders—will represent MLS.

Here is a breakdown of this year’s tournament groups and the entire 32-team Club World Cup field, arranged by confederation:

Which teams will compete in the 2025 Club World Cup?

FIFA couldn’t rely solely on the 2024 continental championships because of the lengthy build-up to the Club World Cup, which was utilized to promote soccer in general prior to the 2026 World Cup. FIFA had to use its ingenuity to assemble the final pool of teams for the first-ever Club World Cup on this size, given the 32-team field that was envisaged and the realities of varying talent levels from confederation to confederation.

Below is a complete list of participating teams, organized by confederation, along with a description of how each team qualified:

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) – Four teams

  • Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia): Winners of 2021 AFC Champions League
  • Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan): Winners of 2022 AFC Champions League
  • Al Ain (United Arab Emirates): Winners of 2023-24 AFC Champions League
  • Ulsan HD (Korea Republic): AFC club rankings
