Fans will definitely get an endorphin rush from Jin of BTS’s announcement that his debut solo album, Happy, is on the way.
The 31-year-old K-pop artist will perform his first solo set of songs on November 15 as it was announced on Monday, October 14. The project, which was inspired by his “journey to discover true happiness,” will include six tracks, according to a BigHit statement.
The press announcement goes on, “Jin reveals his honest thoughts and feelings on what happiness means to him in the hopes that those who listen to the album will also find joy.” “Happy is a genuine, heartwarming gesture that invites listeners to join him on a journey to find happiness, offering them a sense of strength and comfort in their day-to-day lives.”
The announcement was made roughly four months after Jin, the first member of BTS, completed his required enlistment in the South Korean military, a milestone he commemorated by giving 1,000 fans hugs. In addition, the performer cemented his legacy during the summer by becoming one of the select few performers to carry the torch during the 2024 Olympics relay.
Happy will come after a run of solo songs that Jin has put out over the years, such as “Tonight” in 2019, “Abyss” in 2020, and “The Astronaut” in 2022. The artist released the extended version of his song “Super Tuna” three days before he formally announced the release of his album.
Jin will become the last member of BTS to record a solo album with this new album, following in the footsteps of Jung Kook, Jimin, V, SUGA, RM, and J-Hope. While the remaining members complete their military service, full-band operations are presently on hold. BTS is anticipated to reappear in 2025.
