Beyoncé Launches ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium

Tonight, Beyoncé gave fans their first look of her 32-date, nine-city, worldwide “Cowboy Carter” tour as it began at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

Her eighth album was released just over a year ago, and this performance is the first taste of the “Cowboy Carter” tour experience. A comprehensive work that highlighted the Black roots of country music, “Cowboy Carter” included collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Shaboozey, Post Malone, and others, as well as covers of songs like “Blackbird” and “Jolene.”

The tour was postponed because to the wildfires in Los Angeles, but Beyoncé finally announced it in February. During the Texans-Ravens NFL Game on Christmas Day, she performed “Cowboy Carter” live for the first time. With a mashup of the album’s tracks and appearances by Shaboozey and Malone, the halftime show attracted 27 million American Netflix viewers.

In March 2024, she first published “Cowboy Carter,” a month after releasing the surprise hits “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” Making her the first Black woman to debut at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, the former was a certified smash. She received three of her eleven Grammy nominations for the effort earlier this year, including the critically acclaimed album of the year, which was her first Grammy victory.

“I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years,” said Beyoncé during her acceptance speech. “I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, for all of the hard work.”
