The BAFTA Film Awards will take place on Sunday at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The red carpet and award ceremony may be seen on E! in the United States, and on BBC One and iPlayer in the United Kingdom.
The BAFTA Awards, dedicated to recognizing the best in British and global film, will air at 7 p.m. GMT, or 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. “The Traitors” star Alan Cumming will host the ceremony.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” leads the 2026 nominees with 14 nominations, including best film, director, leading actress, and lead actor. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” is barely behind with 13 nominations, including best film, original screenplay, director, and more. The full best-picture lineup includes Chloe Zhao’s “Hamnet,” Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme,” and Joachim Trier’s “Sentimental Value.”
Zhao, Safdie, Anderson, Coogler, Trier, and Yorgos Lanthimos are all in the running to direct “Bugonia.” Zhao now has seven BAFTA nominations, including two wins for best film and best director for “Nomadland” in 2021. This year, the director created history as “Hamnet” became the most-nominated film by a female director at the BAFTA. (Zhao is the sole female director nominated this year.)
Leading actor nominations were given to Jesse Plemons (“Bugonia”), Robert Aramayo (“I Swear”), Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“One Battle After Another”), Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”), and Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”), as well as Jessie Buckley (“Hamnet”), Rose Byrne (“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”), Kate Hudson (“Song Sung Blue”), Chase Infiniti (“One Battle After Another”), Renate Reinsve (“Sentimental Value”), and Emma Stone (“Bugonia”).
In previous years, Britbox had the broadcast rights to the BAFTAs in the US.
