The Best Animated Feature Oscar nominee Arco, starring Will Ferrell and Natalie Portman, is now available on digital streaming services.

Arco, directed by Ugo Bienvenu, premiered in theaters on November 14 for an awards-qualifying run before going into limited distribution on January 23. The official summary of the film reads, “A magical and beautifully animated journey through time, Arco is a dazzling adventure about a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075 and discovers a world in peril.”

“As Arco develops a charming and touching friendship with a young girl named Iris, they band together, and along with her trusted robot caretaker Mikki, set out on a quest to get Arco home, while the two children may also be the only ones who can save our planet.”

In addition to Ferrell and Portman, Arco’s voice cast features America Ferrera, Flea, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg. Portman is one of the film’s Oscar-nominated producers, alongside Ugo Bienvenu, Félix de Givry, and Sophie Mas.

Arco, a Neon film, was released on Tuesday for digital streaming and premium video on demand on digital platforms such as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, and YouTube Movies & TV for purchase at $19.99 and rental at $14.99 for 48 hours.

How Was ‘Arco’ Received By Audiences And Critics?

Arco earned approximately $983,000 in domestic ticket sales and more than $181,000 internationally, totaling $1.1 million at the worldwide box office. According to sources, the production budget for The Film was $11.1 million.

Arco received a 93% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 94 reviews. The film’s RT Critics Consensus states, “Blending together different influences that complement each other like the colors of a rainbow, Arco soars with its clever world-building and lovable characters.”

In addition, Arco received an 88% “fresh” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter, based on over 100 verified user reviews. The RT viewership summary for the film is currently pending.

Arco, rated PG, is available on PVOD starting Tuesday.
