Independence Day begins with celebrations in the capital Vilnius. Lithuanians gather for a flag-raising ceremony, during which they wear the country's national colors. Yellow, green, and red decorate buildings and homes, much like the flag in today's Doodle. Later in the day, loved ones celebrate by enjoying local cuisine.
