The 2025 Japan Open will take place in Osaka from October 13–19, and Alexandra Eala will be competing.
The Filipina tennis star will go to Japan for the WTA 250 competition, which also includes 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and home favorite Naomi Osaka.
When she faces 18-year-old Czech player Tereza Valentová in the opening round on Tuesday (October 14), world no. 54 Eala, who failed to qualify for the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, will be looking for her first victory in three matches.
The 20-year-old from Quezon City would face third seed Cristina Bucsa from Spain in the round of 16 if she wins. The 32 participants at the Japan Open will compete till the final on Sunday, October 19.
