Adobe has embarked on a mission to draw users to its platform for AI solutions. In April, the company unveiled a revamped Firefly web app that allows users to utilize Adobe’s proprietary Firefly image and video generation models alongside third-party models.
Now, it is launching a Firefly app for both iOS and Android, enabling users to access all of its models as well as those from OpenAI (GPT image generation), Google (Imagen 3 and Veo 2), and Flux (Flux 1.1 Pro).
Similar to the web app, the new mobile applications allow users to input prompts to create images or videos, or transform images into videos. Additionally, users can modify specific areas of images using generative fill or expand an image with generative expand. Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers can initiate a project on the Firefly mobile app and save it in the cloud for access via the web or desktop app.
The company is also broadening its support for third-party models, including Flux.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs, Ideogram 3.0 by Ideogram, and Gen-4 Image by Runway.
Furthermore, Adobe is enhancing Firefly Boards, its collaborative whiteboarding tool, to include video generation capabilities. Canvas allows users to create videos using Adobe’s own video models as well as those developed by competitors.
Adobe reported that users have generated over 24 billion media assets with its Firefly models, attributing a significant increase in first-time subscribers—30% quarter-over-quarter—to its AI features.
